The tragic loss of his right hand necessitated the side-switch in the part of his hair. His well-maintained face-shelf was fortunately not affected.

    Sadly, at the Battle of Monocacy (July 9, 1864), this well-groomed gentlemen lost his legs and pelvis as well, due to a distressing cannon blast. Though disfigured his beloved will continue to stand (kneel) by his side, in no small part due to the fact that she adores his aforementioned face-shelf.
